If you take out the storage trays..the lap belt bolts holes are there. Attach seatbelts and add seat cushions. It'll work in a pinch.plumkrazy wrote:I would love a ASC Conv. But need a back seat so its a killer for me.

I've always wondered the same thing. The coupes are sought after before the hatch back which comes before the convertible. Maybe people don't like convertibles.. LoL. I don't think its the "kit" because it's basically similar to a mustang Cobra. I've asked that same question in the McLaren Facebook ...

I located a stock 89 AscMclaren in Flat Rock Michigan at Riteonauto( he actually had a black 88 and a SVO) i looked in the engine bay and ASC didn't use the black/orange wire(plug) that goes to a stock mustang alternator. They only used a 4-6 gauge wire from the Lestek to the starter relay and the ...

3g alternator upgrade on 89 Asc
I'm trying to upgrad my alternator to a 3g on my 89 McLaren. The McLaren came with a 130amp Lestek Alternator. Did that Alternator use the 4gauge wire along with the black/orange wires? Should I use the 3g in the same manner or eliminate the black/orange wire and only use the 4 gauge? All the videos ...

Re: Factory horns: did the 89's come with airhorns?
My factory horns have went bad. I need to replace them. Did 89 Asc's come with air horns? I don't see any evidence of there ever being air horns on this car. Are they hard to add?
It’s not likely 2 horns went bad. The horn pads are known for going bad. It’s a simple fix. Time to get a volt ...

Alright I gathered some info. In 1989 only 18 white/wine/Scarlet were produced. 16 automatics and 2 5 speed cars. The number 27 your referring to is the total number of 5 speed cars made out of the 247 run. In 1989 white was the most popular color with 84 cars painted. The scarlet interior build ...

I was wondering about that shop. Owner/mechanic still hasn't called me back. Thanks for the heads up.plumkrazy wrote:If you talk with Jason of GPIV I would not go to Oval Repair. He spent a lot of money and F@*** it up. Form what he told me. And their Mechanic sounds like a real piece of work. But ask Jason

Re: Replacing shocks and struts. Opinions?
Need to do shocks and struts on 399. KYB or tokico? Price is about the same. Opinions/advice? Thanks in advance!
I just did my front and rear springs. I just put Eibach pro kit springs on and I already had Tokico shocks(BB3026) and struts on the car. It rides a lot better. I'm going with Bilstein ...
