A lot of my car club guys recommended Alex and Dave's in livonia. The front counter guy Alex is very knowledgeable but lacks a good customer service attitude. I brought my 86 to him, and was satisfied. He's owned an 87 or 88 ASC mustang.
They do a lot of classic cars.

I have not found a Ford ...

I have a Capri so it is a different set up, not if they used the same motor or not but the Carpi used a Cadillac motor from the '80's like the Eldorado. I have bought a few of them now and just changed over my switch/connector via unscrewing it to have the correct wiring set up.

I'm sure there is ...

Ugh, sorry, I didn't take any pics of the inside of the door when I had it apart :(
BUT, I did have a similar problem where my bushings on my slide were shot too. I replaced them and had to realign the whole window and stops.
(it's a fun time getting that slide bar out to replace the bushings!)

Emergency brake boot?

*86 Capri vert*
I'm replacing my center console and would like to change my emergency brake boot also - it's pretty faded and beat up looking.

Henry says he has some of these for sale for $75 and that they were made specifically for ASC, however it seems awfully weird to me that they would just not ...

Re: Top

There should be no wrinkles in a cloth top. The plastic windows will smooth out in the sun. Vinyl tops with wrinkles show go away with time.

Thanks Kevin. Ordered my top a week or two ago, they said manufacturing time is about 3 weeks total. Hoping it will resolve my issue - not that I just have ...

Interior paint is a pain.

Best is to find a shop who can mix spray cans of paint from the back of a plastic part.

Then you really need to repaint most things with it, as it might be really close...but it's still going to be off just a tad. So I'd at least paint the dash hull and the pad to get a ...

Interior colors - not matching?

Hey guys,
For my 86 Capri vert with the sand beige interior, I have been trying to poke around for the correct interior color.
After researching and talking with a few ppl I found that SEM code 4133 is the correct color for the interior of the vehicle. However that paint code (which is a custom mix ...

Dan,
Did your wrinkles come out? I am starting to think I might need a new top :(

Now that I have gotten my motor working again (thanks to capri50asc!), the top is so tight that my tonneau will not go down all the way...

can you send a couple pics?

worked! Thanks Mike!
it was the drivers side cable that popped the trunk.

On a side note, is this a specific asc solenoid?

Cool! I'll give that a shot when I get home. I thought that was for the tonneau release, I never noticed one on the passenger side box.

How do you get into a trunk without the popper working??

On my 86 convertible, there is no key lock for the trunk, just a popper.
I've tested power, it is running through the push button popper but the solenoid in the trunk is not popping - I'm locked out.

couple that with my broken pull down motor and I have a top that is not going down too (sigh).

So ...
