I am trying to install the pull down motor for my '88 ASC McLaren. Can someone post a picture using a flash so I can see the finished mounted position?

I must say, when they fabricated the hole for the motor, they didn't cut enough material away to easily mount it in place. Especially with that ...

What's always been unfortunate to me is how little people know about these cars - ASCs. You'd think they'd be more well known. Ford didn't market them well from '85 - '90, for starters. They totally hit a home run with the design of the ASC McLaren - especially the custom top and tonneau and the ...

Chris

Wonderful. So the capri guys can easily get a new one on Amazon for $46, while us Mustang guys have to shell out $332. that's great.

Feel bad for the op, since he doesn't have his original ...

Dad has one, about 140k miles, great vehicle, tows well, about comparable in MPG to the bigger engines. Thirsty as hell, but it will set your butt back in the seat when you stomp on it. Fun truck ,very comfortable. Been really reliable.

Thanks for the info.

Great pictures. Can't wait to see the rest of these.

I wonder if Sandy ever got to see these??

It would be awesome to find this prototype car with the automatic top.

How nice that would've been to have ASCs be automatic. ( I know, $$$ but still)

Sad. Ken's right, they made so few '90s its unfortunate that one was left out in bad weather like hail. But considering what condition the car is in overall its not a surprise.

At least it wasn't one of the rare color cars...... :(
