Shaine's 85 coupe blue orange

Post by S »

OK! im slackin on gettin my vins (car located at dads, step mom went out cracking again! ha)

im the 6 or so owner of the car! origina, to some gy to doug my cuz's cuz, my uncle then to his daugther and NOW ME!
i got the car with 112,000 miles (says 12,000) the engine was rebuilt and cammed (501 290) a few years before by my uncle and doug ( cousins)
i got it for 2,000 down payment of 300 and 100 a month after that. i have blown up 2 trannies and 3 clutches because had junk stuff in it with the engine stuff now i have a dual friction clutch and t5 with straight cut gears to handle the

302, cam, headers, edelbrock performer rpm intake, holly 650 dual pump, mallory coil and dist, moroso plugs. hurst comp plus shifter, holly blue fuel pump, monster tach, royal purple oil . i cant think of whats all done

right now it miss fires after i put all the money into the drivetrain! so i put it up for the winter ( taxes and title expensive!) the car gets around 12mpg. its very very rough, im the only one to put MONEY INTO IT and not just beat on it and seell it like my cuz. the paint is cracked all over, no body kit piece is on it. the interior though is really clean. leather wrap wheel is torn and a 2 in tear in teh driver seat. rear hatch plastic is scratche dup some though. outside very rough, dings dents all over kinda especially the hood (day b4 i put it up for the winter a branch fell on it in a storm  )

umm.. i love the car, i love the cam :) i love the glass packs straight pipes, i love how the tranny wines like a super charger :) i love the car plain and simple..lucky enough to get A CAR LIKE THAT! i didnt realize the value and rareity till some time later.

ah im lost waht else to say? now it needs tires and the miss fixed and a 9 in stuffed under it..i have MANY MANY plans for the car

sorry to anyone but I WILL HAVE THE FASTEST ASCMCLAREN IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! mike im comin for you!

i want a 9 in and a radical small block or mild big block to power it to the 10's or low 11's and drive it daily or weeknds

i have that uncle that used to own it ..he has a body shop and will help me buld the car and paint it like glass :)

idk what else to say, car came from KY now its here in northwest ohio..if someone besides peter is near let me know..toledo, dayton, lima. id travel to see another one besides peters. and yea im 19 and ill have the car FOR A LONG TIME dont worry about me sellin it..not sure of the value right now..cant be much ..only worth tons to me :) so ill have to get that vin though so i can know what number of 150 it is and yea thanks to everyone in advance cuz ill need help..i WILL be in magazines and ill send out thank you's :)

Glad to see that the car means so much to you, you well not sell for a long time, and you have good plans for it. I like that to, my car will be a daily/weekend driver and I will keep it as long as I can  .

What is on your hood? A twin set of louvers or a twin set of small scoops ?

shanie buddy 84 and 85 coups are not numberd and there is no record of the 85 vins (sandy told me once some crazy lady shredded them) and as far as the buck tag there should be 2 tags 1 about 2" wide with lots of letters and numbers stamped in it it should also have CAPRI stamped in it the other tag is the one that you are talking about the mclaren coupe tag that tag is the only way to prove your car is a real ascmclaren its about an inch wide... and you should have no tag on your door OTHER then what ford put there only verts got door stickers

No. The cars were not numbered. They weren't even made in the same sequence as their vins.

The best we can do is to ballpark your vin in the area of where it might have been made. My car is the 9th vin in the list of 1985 vins that Sandy has. Sandy has about 35% of all the 85 coupe vins. So my car probably was anywhere from #20 to #35.
