Updated Pictures

Cafe Express makes it easy. But we need pictures.

Not sure how many we have in the album areas.

I can do the legwork on setting it up for whoever is interested! We will need high res pics though...

Well, if high resolution means a 5 mega pixel picture, I am out. I have purchased 3 digital cameras in as many years, but do not have a 5 meg camera. Bummer!

IMO because of the requirements of high quality pictures and the nature of this being a new published item all new pics would be desired. The timing just stinks for us in the north that may have already put our cars away in storage. For those who dont have super high quality cameras and or access to one please send the best you can. Perhaps even snail mail phsycal pictures that can be scanned in. I am sure we can even make a collage of pictures too for other things.

A special notice should be put out to all members then a group vote on what pics should be entered. In order to meet our objectives we need to set up a time line. Hypethetical one month from posting special notice to submit pictures, then two weeks to vote, and another few weeks to manufacture and distribute. Can we probably crunch that to have it done by Christmas and use proceeds for an eventual picnic we can set up in regional areas? For instance one East Coast, central, and West Coast? Or maybe an add in a magazine or publish a book exclusively on our cars?

yes the old 5bar is all plastic but the 3 Bar 1985 and 1986 the outer section is plastic but the very front rounded section is tin/pot metal it's easy to unbolt and hand sand and repaint, could send some pictures this weekend of the one that I paint and was chrome.

Should we start a NEW Subject "Calender Pictures 2007?"

As for calenders I could help with some pictures of cars that were at Woodward and Burch Run. Yes mostly Grand Prix Capris but a couple ASC mclarens also.

Lol. Actually this thread spun in many directions including the 3 or 5 bar dilema. It started on Updated pictures then went too the following:

-3 or 5 bar
-License plates
-calendars

I would like to see a thread for custom plates too. Be curious to see how many of us have them and for what vehicles, including other then ASC's.

I'm out. Only camera I have is a store-bought disposable 35mm. All car are put away for winter. and none are even at home ! 2 of the 3 are in commercial storage. We should do this picture taking sometime between May & October.

Good to know! I have never seen a 5 bar in person so I can see where the confusion comes in. I have both 3 bar RS and GS grills so I know what I am referring to with those. I just don't go back far enough with the earlier cars.

Thanks for the info Mark. OK, from what Mike has indicated, the McLaren 3 bar grill would have had the pot metal attached. So then the 1985 McLaren original grill and headlight bezels were painted a flat grey?

Thanks for all the replies guys, this has been an interesting and yes, quite varied thread. Now if I can find a decent 3 bar grill to purchase, I will not worry about the color and consider painting it.

They left Ford with the charcoal grey color. For some reason I thought they would be painted by asc but I looked at some pictures and it seems they were left charcoal grey.
