January 24 + 25 Hilco Industrial Inc. will be at Autry Avenue for ASC auctioning off heavy duty industrial equipment FOR Automotive Specialty Corporation, a division of ASC (American Sun Roof) Inc. Said equipment is used, but in working order and was used to manufacture the ascMcLaren for Ford Motor Company.

Then a listing a miles long of the heavy duty equipment. In addition, all the assists of ASC (Automotive Specialty Corporation) will be included.

This is the 2nd sale at the location.

How did you come across this? I was told the original owner Heniz commited suicide some years ago, he was suffering from severe depression. Does this mean the company is not doing so well if they are selling of equipment?

This means that this is equipment that was purpose made, for the production of the ascMcLaren that has been just "hanging around" and taking up no needed space, that they are liquidating.

I looked over the list. Is any of that stuff really McLaren specific? It was spray booths, fork lifts, mono rail systems, etc......

Yes, I did & NO he isn't. He bought all of the left over parts. The machinery he has no use for.
Yes, some SOME! of the machinery, was custom converted for removing the roofs and other finishing type procedures.

According to what Hank said, that was A PART of the machine that removed the roof of the 2-door coupe. But we did not get anymore into that ......than that!!

End of an era hey we could buy the stuff and make a few more asc's but would have to get around a 100k or so per unit after we aquired all the odds and end from Hank! :roll:

Lol. The way I see things it is going to be easier to replicate things in the future and with better materials and ways of manufacturing.
