Mustang Mclaren convertible sighting yesterday

Post by red390gt »

My office at work faces a busy road, I have a good view of the traffic at a stop light. Yesterday while looking out the window I see a 87 or 88 ASC Mclaren convertible, white with a blue top, full ground effects and mesh wheels. I could not see who was driving because I sit too high up , I am looking down on the traffic. It was good to see one on the road, I can honestly say I have probably only see two or three others in person actualy driving on the road, they are a rare sight these days. Not sure why they picked yesterday to be out driving the car, it was a wet sloppy day here and the car was filthy from road spray, maybe it is a daily driving car for the owner.

'Ya, it so very seldom that I see one any longer, that when I do - it's like my heart skips a beat. Sorta kinda like a sudden shock!

Yea, it really is anymore a big thing to even see one out and about nowadays......Its funny how you described your office. I'm in pretty much the same setting at my office. I have 2 large windows that overlook a 4 lane artery that leaves the city, I get to see quite an array of different specialty cars on nice days. (I know when to look out when I hear an engine singing over 4000 rpm......)

So many ASCs have "died", I think many have been mothballed in garages and come out to drive 50 miles a year also. reasons we just don't

I'd really like to see some of the other colors......all I ever run into is the whites, reds, blacks, and blues........

The '94 National Mustang show in Charlotte there were a few ASCs there, I think about 6-8? and a few in the parking lot (mine).......
