danstarley wrote:Yes Sandy, that's mine. The listing, however, was from about six months before I bought it from them. They must have listed it, and it did not sell. Waited some months and re-listed...that's when I bought it.

I see quite a few McLarens currently on eBay that are not selling too well...maybe I should wait a little while?
First 3 words....YES, Sandy, that is mine......

What car are you referring to..... ? ? ? :?:

I liked the legend lime allot too. The new flavor is orange this year. Next I would imagine that pastel blue the "Mach I" used to use during the early '70's. Their thinking is to come out with certain colors for a short period of time to make them rare.

Yea, thats true. I don't really understand why car manufacturers can't offer a wider palette of colors? I mean, really I don't see how it costs them more to have say 6-8 MORE colors available, of cours keeping with only a small set of colors for interiors. to have a few more mixes in the factory, really a big deal :?:

Ah...that's because you're not a senior citizen, old fart, geezer, wheezer like me ! Back in the 1960s & 1970s and up the the late 1980s most all cars at GM offered 21 colors on each car. Ford Also. Chrysler was around 18 per year and AMC was at 15.

Slowly they began cutting back. From 21 to 18 at GM & Ford. Chrysler stayed at 18 but later dropped to 15. AMC dropped to a dozen. They took note that sales surged ahead, and nobody realized the cut, (except dealers & Sales) Mfgrs thought, why the expense of so many colors? So they they cut back again, GM & Ford to 12, Chrysler to 12 . (and) so it is today.

It seems sometimes to many decisions just gets things more confusing. In other words make three packages vs. 15 of them that are hard to remember and pass the savings onto the consumers in doing so. I think Ford is going to be doing more of this soon with their vehicles like many Japanese cars already benefit from. It goes along the thinking of if people are buying power windows with power door locks why sell them seperately when you can sell them together in a package for less? Also regarding paint colors just how many shades of a grey blue or red etc... color does one need?

Plus it makes it a lot easier to sell one if there are not 25 different colors that buyer knows he could get very simple to say here is your color choices i think it is very smart to limit colors.

your probly going to rip on me for this but my first car was a BRIGHT green Delsol i loved that car because of the wind in my hair... i better get a vert soon though because the hair is starting to go fast... and im not even 21 yet!

about the counter... i like to watch the counter to see how many people are watching the item too... lets me know if its worth bidding on because i dont bid on auction with 400 other people trying to bid too ill wait for one that no one wants to bid on and grab it for cheep
my step mom got my dad some books on selling stuff on ebay for his birthday a few months ago i wonder what they say about the counter...
DelSol's are pretty cool... a little on the small side though. My wife has a Miata, fun little car with the top down, but with the top up! You know that little, quick, head turn to the left you do to check your blind spot? I once did that little turn only to bash my head on the driver's window! Ouch!!

I would love to know what the book says... let us know when you get a chance.

Oh, and don't worry about the hair, it's the head you have to worry about. As long as your head occupies its place on top of your shoulders, your doing just fine! 'Course this is coming from a guy who went to his 20th high school reunion because he still fits in his high school sweat shirt and jeans, and has a full head of hair! I figured I'd be the only one there like that, and I might have been right! What was the line from Gross Point Blank... "it was just as if everyone had swelled."

Shiny Side Up!
