The '86 SVO actually went down in HP from the prior model year ('85 SVO = 205 HP).

Not all '85 5.0Ls had tubular headers. The "early" CFI engine did not. It had exhaust from the '84 and earlier model years (cast manifold, single muffler/tailpipe). That early CFI was also rated at less 15 less HP than the 180 HP version. The 180 HP version got exhaust from the '85 4V version (headers, dual mufflers/tailpipes).

The '85 CFI engine did not ever have roller cam/lifters. The roller 5.0L cam was in '85 4V and '86+ SEFI engines only. The CFI 5.0L got a roller block later in the model year but still had flat-tappet cam/lifters.
Correct on all counts, and thank you for adding what I'd omitted based on memory of 20 years ago. I also wasn't specific enough regarding which '85 cars got the tubular headers and roller setup (the carbureted 5-speeds... which mine was). That's why this site rocks... great people... and such a wealth of shared info! :D
