1986 ASC McLaren Mercury Capri Coupe! This is #40 of 114 built! I have owned it since 1990. It has 5.0 high output V-8, 5 speed, cold air, tilt, power locks, windows, steering and brakes, Recaro seats. It has been garage kept and never wrecked. It is still beautiful inside and out with 92,000 miles. The car runs and drives great, and is very clean! The color is smoke grey with orange accents. It is one of 15 built with this color combination.



The stock 1986 Mercury Capri used the same basic mechanics and Fox body as the Ford Mustang, but with bubble rear hatch window, flared fenders and upgraded interior.



ASC McLaren ordered the base car from Ford but with quad shocks, a B303 Hi Po Cam, specially tuned exhaust and exhaust headers, special rocker arms, etc. McLaren made major suspension modifications, including lowering the car 1.5 inches, which made significant handling improvements. McLaren also added ground effects, waffle wheels imported from Campagnolo from Italy, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, Whistler Spectrum-II Radar Detector, rear spoiler, orange striping, etc. A 140 MPH speedometer replaced the normal 85 MPH speedometer. I still have the original wheels, (in very good condition).
