1985 Mercury Capri Convertible - $6500 (Thomaston)

Rare car! This is a 5.0 SC Convertible Mercury Capri. Only 257 of these were built. 5.0 EFI with automatic overdrive. This is a Mercury RS that was converted by the ASC/McLaren company into a 2 seater convertible like a Mercedes-Benz 380 SL. This car has recaro seats with speakers in the headrest. The cars were sold new by the Ford dealers, just like all the Mercurys. The Mercury RS Hatchback sold new for $10,223.00, and the conversion cost $12,059.00, bringing the total cost of the car up to $22,282.00. This car has 89,560 miles.
I'll take $6,500.00 or will consider a trade. I'm interested in trading for a tractor, a skidsteer or cars in the years: 1935, 1936, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965. Call David @ (770) 584-2770.

Sorry guys, I don't know how to put photos on these posts so here is the original Craigs ad with photos:

Decent non-stocks for the Capri. For some reason I like the wire wheels on the capris, but they don't look right on the stangs to me.

The look bent back to me, and I don't notice anything different about the cover, what do you see that I am missing?

The tonneau applique is missing. The A pillar looks altered to me.

I think the wheels give it a unique look and I like it. I always loved the white on black two tone that FoMoCo put on the 'Stangs and Capris in the 80's, and I've thought about making my four seater that color.

Ah I see the cover now. You know it actually looks decent with that applique off. I may remove mine for a while until I get it replaced.

The pillars look like they are painted to me, maybe the same as the body?
