88 ASC/McLaren Offer or Trade! (redwood city)

Post by shaolinfox30 »

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/2232085087.html

Selling our project car, or willing to trade for street legal motorcycle, boat or watercraft, etc. Even trade or cash on top of trade.

We have a 1988 ASC/McLaren Ford Mustang Convertible. Production numbers show this car as a 1 of 1 (Atlantic Blue Exterior, Black Convertible Top, and Beige Interior). The car is in great running shape but poor cosmetically.

Passed smog with flying colors, vehicle is registered with a CLEAN title. May need to pass smog again when sold to new owner.

The car needs a new top, old owner thought he could get just the plastic "glass" replaced and didn't do a good job of it. The interior has seat covers to protect what is left of the ASC/McLaren seats (which we found could be purchased about $100 a piece!). The headlight covers are NOT original ASC/McLaren, they were installed to cover the yellowing headlights by the previous owner (headlights for these can be found pretty cheap on ebay)

We need to get rid of the car, too many projects and since we typically deal with mechanical, the body work is more than we want to deal with.

Can email pictures upon request, or you can come see it. Serious inquiries only, no joy riders!

Shoot me an email so we can set something up. I can also email you the production info. Thanks

Anybody have an idea what is going on with all of this flagging on craigslist lately?
A friend in Denver is attempting to sell his Corba kit and it keeps getting flagged. In fact the other night it was flagged within 9 minutes of being listed.

Might be the local dealers that don't want any competition from the private sellers. that's all I can think of.

I don't know. I'm not liking the scammers, con artists, robbers, and assaults that have taken place.

I post an ad for a vehicle and I get all these pond scum outfits that "want to sell my car" for me. tired of that. Plus have you all heard of the people that have been assaulted, raped, and beat up trying to complete a craigslist deal? Sad that there are so much scum in our society.

Craigslist has lost its initial high reputation and success, much like Ebay. Ebay was awesome the 1st 5-6 years, but not so much now. With high fees, and 75% of ads being businesses, instead of simply private people making deals.

I count myself lucky, then.

The Green Machine was a CL deal... and he was great to deal with. Seller lives in a rural area, and was an on the level guy... a straight shooter.

I've purchased 4 vehicles over Ebay. None in the past 3 years.

Happy with all of them, but Ebay, Craigslist and anything else that pops up will be a target for the scammers.

Anyone else ever been 'awarded' a multi million dollar prize, to be awarded afetr you give them all your personal info? And, do you know, the scammers KNOW within SECONDS when you give them a fake bank account number? I've tried to 'scam the scammers!'
