Help with rear shocks

Me mechanic is about to replace the rear shocks(not the quad's) in my 89 McLaren.
He claims there is no access to shock towers from the trunk. He wants me to go over and show him hot to access the upper shock bolts. If what he says about the trunk area is accurate I'm thinking must be in the area where the top goes into. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up going over to the shop and figured everything out.
