Los Gatos does make a lot of sense. It's a small town but high dollar neighborhood. It's probably 25 miles south from me. The DMV smog history showed it being smogged around the Mountain View area which is about 15 miles south from me. There were more recent records of it just a bit north of me for a bit. The used car lot was 5 miles south. Nevada is a 4-8 hour drive depending on where you go.
Still perplexing how Detroit made for the east coast cars ended up in CA. I could see the 85/86 cars ending up here but CA had special smog equiement which had to be ordered from the factory so these had to be special ordered and not after thoughts.
My 85 was sold from the San Francisco Mercury Dealer, about 20 miles north.

Yes, that is the same site. At the time it showed the serice station location. I'm not sure if I still have the data. They removed the service station locations so people would not be able to track the locations who cheated the smog testing.

Todd Smith Nevada. The car was purchased in Los Gatos California. Mr McHugh of McHugh Lincoln Mercury, was involved in getting Ford to produce this car. His dealership received numbers 1, 2 and 4 for sale. Number one was blue and white, and went to his daughter. I got number 2.
