For an asc Coupe...its really not bad. A bit of work and I bet it could really be brought back to nice original condition. I *think* I even spy the original radio. I don't see the radar detector though. I wonder what speakers are in the hatch...

Sandy, that car is not on your list. (I added it to the list you posted here but you may want to update your personal records).

I don't believe he has owned it for more than a month! Mc Claren ? How many people do not know how to spell the name of their car?

I'd like to sell my Fourde as well !! :(
I'll add it to the list, without ownership, THANKS

I am going to a car show this evening & taking one of the McLarens !

The seller looks like a dealer.

The only thing wrong I can see is the air cleaner lid, the lettering should be black letters, not cutouts with black band.

It appears the guy intentionally mis-spelled McLaren so as to keep the vehicle from being listed on ebay under the asc McLaren category. He seems to know there are various groups with websites having knowledge of the vehicles, but did not provide any links. Kind of strange! With the dings on the lower front skirt and the incorrect air cleaner cover, one wonders what else the pictures are not revealing??? Something does not look right under the hood where the fan shroud should be, but my old failing eyes can not focus in on whats missing... maybe not so much missing, but rather out of place. The shroud looks too big and it would appear in other pictures the hood will not close tight up front!!!

I e mailed him. I don'tthink he liked me!
He is a dealer. He states the car belongs to a customer/friend,
and he is selling it for him. He told me if I am not
sure of the car's credentials, not to bid.

He sent me a positive response. Thanking me for the info I gave him and said he was going to get some rear hatch pictures of the speakers.

Maybe you were a little too "blunt", Sandy? I know you get all "uptight" when bad numbers are used. :D

Looking closely at the shifter, it appears to have the stock Ford shifter knob and not the correct leather wrapped ASC know. Overall the car looks pretty decent, although I am curious to see what the underside looks like.

I also noticed the possible cracked dash pod. New ones are no longer available and that is a SOB to replace. My 85 was the same way. I have a spare pod, but have still yet to replace it. I do know when I do, I will replace the heater core the same time.

Call Danial Carpenter of Charlotte, NC. I believe he still has NOS 84-86 Dash hulls. I bought mine from him for $250. He was selling them on ebay and stopped since he was not getting any buyers.

If it is just a crack (and I think I see it). You can repair it from the back with some two part epoxy and fiberglass clotth. Then on the front sand out any extra, and use some plastic puddy filler or jbweld to hide the crack. Then paint the whole thing.

It is a PITA job though.
