Yes, they were, in fact, produced with convertible chassis & floor pans, as well as custom door windows made by Libby-Corning-Owens, Ford's glass supplier. I believe, (but have never been given absolute proof) that they also employed Mustang trunk lids, especially on the Capris....

Mustang coupes and convertibles use the same trunk lid. It would only make since to use a stock trunk lid on the Capri too.

Pete,

No, fortunately I didn't need to replace the carpeting in the package tray area. Mine looked pretty bad back there, but I very carefully cleaned it w/ simple green and a soft bristled brush and nearly all of the dirt and staining came out. Now it looks presentable - not an embarassment like it once did. The only thing is that whatever type of carpeting they used back there sheds very easily when scrubbed, so it thinned a little bit (probably only noticeable by me). I guess I was fortunate that it cleaned up nice enough so that I wouldn't have to replace that carpeting.

BTW - You should be able to get it at ACC or some other carpeting vendor. I know I saw some of that type of carpeting on a website, but I can't remember where. If it will help you, I will check my notes to see where I saw it. Let me know...
