Yeah I bet...lol. I was excited when I saw it was a 5-speed but boy she's in need of some major TLC...plus it's too expensive IMO...

Plus only having 1 picture can't be a good thing...Statements like this are never a good thing either...lol

Latest? My interior is about all back together and has gone through it's first "phase" of restoration. I need to button up the dash...put in the glove box and screw in the gauge bezel.

I need to find and fix the coolant leak I have. Looks like it may be somewhere around the timing cover. UGH!

After that I think I can register it and DRIVE it!

There is SOOOOOO much still broken on the car. The low oil sensor harness appears missing. I can't figure out where to hook all the foglights up to. I need new carpetting, I should dye the dash pad to match the dash. The T5 tranny hump needs to be welded in so I can get a console in the car. (the console HAS been fully restored though).

Then there is simply the nasty undercarriage up front and the rear in the back. Maybe I'll drive it for 2-4 years before tackling all that stuff. By then my son will be 6-8 and ready to help me out!

Cool sounds like your making some progress...if you need pictures of the low pressure harness let me know...I'll try to snag some for ya...

My fog lights used to work but they don't now and I can't figure that out either...I think they stopped working after I got it back from the paint shop...maybe they crossed a wire or something...I have to get under there and investigate...just been lazy though...

Boy, you guys make me feel good about my Mclaren. " that i'm not the only nut case to buy a fixer upper" I bought it just because I LOVE capris. And Mclaren's were always cool but rarely seen. I also wanted a project car.
Mine is in the welding stage. Alittle here and alittle there.
I know mine will never be a perfect SHOW car but it WILL LOOK GOOD and be driven Daily. 70 miles plus a day and dirt road duty. The way it should be.

It's back yet again.

I wonder what will finally happen to the car. I don't have a great feeling it will survive in one piece for much longer.

Damn it's actually the 3rd time now...Maybe he'll get lucky and someone will accidentally hit the bid now button, then enter an amount, then hit the confirm bid button...

Okay, in discust to its condition, I have finally pulled the shipper tag and McLaren built order on the car....WHOAAA

Is's the 9th Full Packaged Coupe made for 1986. It's Dash Plaque is (was) # 009. Now, get this, it was RAVEN BLACK when it left ascMcLaren and was ordered to be made without the striping kit/decals/logos. So.....It was a totally black car, looking much like a Capri RS with ( I assume ) a rear spolier, side ground effects and a front air dam. The rims were the anthracite silver ones.

EDIT: It was shipped to Jacksonville, Florida.....

Weird. I wonder how it got blue with stripes then? I wonder what the door tag reads.

 Because in the picture no "color" can be seen, as it's all in prime. The little piece of air dam in the front left looks to be my car's color, the Smoke Charcoal Grey, but under the questions ON the actual web site, some guy asks if it was originally the blue with orange, and the seller reples "Yes" ~ Upon looking it up, Sandy finds factory forms indicating that it was originally a "Sold" car & made in Raven Black, with a request to NOT install the decal package. So..... What the heck is it really supposed to be? Thusly the  The only thing that I could actually verify is/was that it WAS initially REALLY a McLaren !! (and a F.P. one at that.....
