50dan, I've got a deal for you! Send to my e-mail (which I will supply you with) all of the last 6 VINs (Example: 600666) of all the window stickers you have, and for giving me (free) ONE sticker, I will supply you with the names & addresses of people on my registry that HAVE THAT car. These are the people to whom these stickers have some value and who would like to have their original Ford supplied original window sticker. Any stickers that I cannot supply you with the owner's name & address (and in some cases, the phone #), you can sell at a reasonable price to members herein.

Your move.

What gives you the right to do this? Was there a clause in the registry giving you the right to devulge personal information without the owners concent?

This is going to get ugly - I am out of here... :protest:
Easy there!!! Sandy was just trying to be helpful a pm on your thoughts would have been best

75% of the people on the Registry I cross paths with at least once a year. Last night a man from Wisconsin called to see what's new, "McLaren-Wise" ... very friendly like 99% I would think that if I had an '86 'Vert and I was contacted & told that I had what 50dan has that i'd be very appreciative that he found his way to my address, and was giving me a chance to buy this item.

Nothing is going to get "ugly" as you call it. I am only offering an opportunity for the gentleman to possibly sell a few. I may NOT even have any of the VINs on the Registry that would match up to his window stickers....

Now I can see why Sandy no longer gives out a listing of the registry.

(I still have my copy from circa 1990) :D

Ahhh, it's 41 pages, 6 per page, at .15 cents a copy that would cost me $6.15 a copy plus perhaps $1.00 in postage (probably more) so..... how many copies to how many people would you send out? Lets say I sent out 10 (a drop in the bucket, BTW) ~ so that would be around $70.00, and that's just 10 copies....now with 240+ people on there, if everyone wanted a copy, we are talking 9,840 copies, and $300.00 worth of postage. (I know you were kidding, and so am I :D ) Then we have the cross referance sheets.....aw, never mind..... :P

Everyone relax already.

A guy found a stash of parts. We are lucky he happened to have the knowledge that they were more than just a bunch of crap 80's parts. He's unsure what to do with them yet or how best to proceed.

We're all very lucky that the whole kit and kaboodle wasn't just burned to the ground and dirt bulldozed over it all.

I'm sure good things will come of this eventually if we just chill for a bit.

I can see how people would be very concerned and Sandy has always exercised caution in the past. He usually contacts the person first and then asks if they mind if so and so can contact them.

No wonder newbs don't stick around here too long. They either see stuff blow up because of a hot head or two, get ignored or come across the thread where their car got ripped apart when it was listed on eBay.

50dan came across some great stuff and rather than be welcomed with open arms and minds somebody get's all worked up when he tries to make a buck or two.

There is a lot of emotion here this morning! Everyone take a deep breath! I feel Sandy had the best of intentions! The idea behind this forum is to aid fellow ASC Mclaren owners, in my opinion getting them paperwork that relates to their car, helps the owner, I'd want anything related to my car. I'd hope someone would contact me if they had something that related to one of my cars. That being said, everyone have a great day! :D

Get destroyed tomorrow morning?????? What's up with that?

Side note, What are all the 1/4 trim panels shown in your album for coupes? not hatchbacks.

Parts

Post by svt1996cobra »

Guys, looking at those 1/4 trim panels, they are for a 82 year model coupe! I wonder if these parts are not from one of the other companys that made convert's.

Those seats are back seats to a Capri. Guess they came out of GS V-8 Hatchbacks becoming 'Verts.

No, those are ascMcLaren takes offs fo sure. The 1/4 trim panels might been from 1987 Mustangs, they began as 2-door notchback coupes.

Panels

Post by svt1996cobra »

The trim panels are from a 82, that is the only year they offered that color of tan, with that style of trim panel, I did see some late 81's that have those color panels also. The 83 -86 1/4 trim panel do not have the embossed decoration below the window opening. If they would be from a 87 or newer they would have provisions for speakers in them.
