Paint Codes for Akco-Nobel System?

Post by jim paris »

I’m having a paint specialist paint my front bumper of my ’89 —Paris Blue,
gave him the listed # DAT 426 and he is telling me he needs another for his paint system: Akco-Nobel, — Lefanol paint.
Sandy, are you familiar with this, and what code he would need?
Many thanks—
Jim

Oh 'Ya, there's some stuff I have yet to uncover. Especially with the 75 1984s. The most difficult thing I did was to find where each & every paint color they used on them, came from. EVEN ascMcLaren has no clue, as they went thru the SIKKENS paint map and picked colors that way, without any knowledge as to where & when & what car each was actually used on and........in what year. By doing this, you (or anyone) can get touch up paint for little chips without spending $40.00 for a half a pint of Sikkens paint that can only be used as a spray on. That took me over a month, computer scanning several different books. Yours in that Nissan code 426 called Bright Blue AT Nissan, used in 1987. It's an exact match for your car. Be aware that there was ALSO a Paris Blue Metallic used on the 1986 Mercury Capri ascMcLaren 2-Seat SC Roadster ~ but it's NOT the same color ! THAT one was a Merkur XR4Ti paint, actually really called Paris Blue, but is not the same color as yours. Close....Real Close, but different~ !! SEE BELOW POST
