Hanks repros are darker and the originals are lighter.

That's as much as I know.

so hank is selling repos. good to know that. so where do you find the original light smoke tinted ones? sorry but those dark ones just dont look right on the GP4's & its hard to justify spending 500 bucks on repos that are not even the correct color.
sandy, wasnt there another ASCMclaren NOS parts dealer here in michigan. i believe his name was norman brown. know if he is still in buisness?

Search and you shall find :D

Call Hank and see if he has any NOS ones left. He's a bit of a hoarder of sorts I bet and I think he might have a few he's holding on to. :)

Last I heard, many years ago (now) Normiee got in trouble and no longer sells parts. All was very very secretive with him and odd, too. He shipped stuff out of a Christian Book Store, was spotted selling loads of McLaren parts at a flee market car show and later spotted having all of his parts confiscated by the law and getting a ride in a Crown Victoria.
While "in business" he sold dirt cheep. I bought a NS (new stock), in Mfgr. shipping box TO ascMcLaren set of 4 orange rims, with lug nuts and center cap (4 wheels, 16 lug nuts, 4 center caps) for $200.00 and a pair of headlight covers, with protective wrap on them fro Polytech Ind in Ct. for $20.00, as well as a rear spolier, attaching clips still bubble wrapped in a box for $ 28.00. Know those side small dark plexi glass vent plugs, 3 per side? I bought all six (side specific BTW) for $1.00 each !
Good guy that Normiee, IMHO. BTW, there was also another person selling good stuff back in about 1990, selling take off parts, such as OEM wheels for 1990 Mustangs, at $35 each.

A while ago, I bought som original asc headlight and tailight covers on ebay. Peter asked me if I would resell them to him, and I did at cost plus shipping.

I didn't know Hank was selling repros at that time or I would have kept them...

I may not be so nice next time...

what about Hanks rear light covers. are those the correct tint or are they darker like the headlight covers?

I checked my two rear sets and they are very close in shade. They are also very close to the original fronts.

I think maybe Hank is still selling original backs but repro fronts....or his repro backs are a much closer match.
