An ascMcLaren forum for 84-86 Capri and 87-90 Mustang based cars modified by Automotive Speciality Corporation, a Division of American Sunroof Corporation. (no affiliation)
Nothing. I do believe that they are stock. Same for the Tranny & rear end. As recently discussed, I am sure that they substituted the factory springs for McLaren manufaftured lowering springs that lowered the car appox. 1 inch. Possibly 1 & 1/2 inches. They (Not ASC) BUT FORD used the GT mufflers in place of the LX V8 mufflers.
The Coupe was thought of as "the Beast" in advertisments in 1986 and the 2-Seat Roadster was referred to as "the Beauty". This mind-set continued for 1987-1990.

I love the gif you made! The only thing they did was opt for the 3.08 gears in the manual tranny vehicles over the 2.73. At the time it was very difficult for tuning cars and the cost of emissions testing so nothing was done. Saleen was in the same situation here henceforth they only made handling, braking, appearance changes.
They really have .308s, huh? I'm nearly certain everthing is original mechanically on my car, and I thought that may have been the case. In comparison to previous mustangs, it just felt different, but I thought it was my imagination.

They were rated the same however with the better cam would suggest higher hp dyno. I would love to see a totally stock one like Sandy's do a dyno test.
I believe the H.P. was 225. 2.73:1 axle ratio on most all 1985 coupes with 5-speed. 1986 5-speeds with 3.08:1. 1985 automatics with 3.27:1 and 1986 automatics with standard 3.27:1 and optional 3.73:1.
I am talking COUPES
