An ascMcLaren forum for 84-86 Capri and 87-90 Mustang based cars modified by Automotive Speciality Corporation, a Division of American Sunroof Corporation. (no affiliation)
The GP needs help in this area. It has OEM style Y-pipe - converters with holes in the pipes and rust. Also stuck valve on drivers side. Plans are driving daily/alot aleast till repaint. Should I but OEM style headers aka86-newer headers with H-pipe and Borla's or Fix the OEM stuff!
I love the noise But think OEM is cool.
I'm leaning towards H-pipe for the added head turner.
Last I need pictures of tailpipes thru ASC rear ground effects. How far out should the pipes stick out? And spacing between ground effects and pipe?
IMHO...a 1 of 3 PACE CAR needs to be left stock as possible.
Honestly, these cars have major potential down the road. And I mean $50k and more. They have it all, rarity, styling, high performance, racing heritage, etc etc.
When you get down into single digit rarity (an we're not talking any other options other than PAINT), you are at a whole other level than the rest of us. (oh yeah, me jealous). I would kill to have room for another car and it would be a GP4....someday you will see me offer hideous amounts of money to wrestle one away from somebody.
I would leave her as absolutely stock as you can.
I'm moving this to asc discussion as we are not supposed to talk about asc cars in the "It's your call" topic.
