Can anyone provide the correct placement of the "ascMcLaren" and "5.0 SC" emblem on the decklid?

Nope! Allthough many people PLACED the ascMcLaren one on the deck, they did NOT come that way!! !! !! Only the 5.0SC on the right side (as in the above picture.) The "C" of 5.0SC should be 2" in from the end of the metal. In other words, 5.0SC and then 2" to the end of the metal.

Yeah it always drives people crazy wondering what a 5.0SC is. I have heard Super Coupe and Super Charged too many times to count. :?

In the picture posted it appears that the ASCMcLaren emblem is on a bit scewed down to the left. Hard to tell though in a picture.

Just out of curiosity...... is the V6 suppose to have a 3.8SC emblem in the same location?

I have no clue. Have never seen a V-6 example from the back (when new) and have never seen a 3.8SC emblem, so I don't think so. Wait, yes!! I do have 1 picture of one. It has nothing on the back.

This may be something that varied from car to car. RARE-ASC's photo is consistent with my car, on which the truck badge does not appear to have been added as an aftermarket item.

The small one you refer to goes on the flat panel on the dash.

decklid emblem location

I have to agree with Sandy. After examining the damaged decklid from my 50,000 mile 85 Flooded Vert, the only emblem on the decklid was the 5.0 SC on the right side. There is no indication of an emblem of any kind on the left side.

Though I do not claim to be an expert on such things, I still think that it varied from car to car, somehow. There are just too many cars with the same badge in the same spot for it to be a coincidence. Here is one mentioned in another thread:
