Does anyone know why GP IV 614706 has a factory 85 style air dam when it was used at the Detroit Grand Prix( see picture on GP site) , then a ASC Mclaren style air dam when it was sitting in the scrap yard?

because it was added later by its last known owner. i recieved a email recently from a close friend of the last guy who owned it & receivd a little background on the car.Does anyone know why GP IV 614706 has a factory 85 style air dam when it was used at the Detroit Grand Prix( see picture on GP site) , then a ASC Mclaren style air dam when it was sitting in the scrap yard?
when he bought it, the airdam was damaged & the asc was what was used as a replacement (the owner thought thats what it came with, like all other asc coupes).
the asc air dam & bumper cover now is on a 85 or 86 asc coupe.
