Sandy Needs a new Muffler

I had my mufflers changed 9 years ago and they had no problem getting them off and reused the factory tail pipes.

Really the exhaust on my 19k mile vert is starting to sound a bit louder than is used to. I didn't think until I read this how hard it's going to be to find an original.

Don't give up looking for original stuff. I found a NOS exhaust for my 84 svo in NJ 3 years ago.
-In fact you might want to try him as he had a Mustang business, name was Bob Gelsie. I think he was getting into off road truck business Wall NJ? I probably still have the shipping onfo.
-Also there was a guy at Carlisle selling take off exhausts and I saw him 5 years ago too at the same spot. Find a map and I can point out the area.
-Also try Saleen and see where their take offs go.
-Post an add in MCA Mustang Times.
-Look for a low mileage wreck in AZ or CA.

What do you feel would be a fair price, for a pair of NOS Ford welded muffler and tailpipes correct for a 86 with the E6ZC numbers in the mufflers.

I paid $300 for an NOS system for the svo. The walker replacement cost about $250 so I thought it was a steal. Used would be a totally different story.

Wow...I know where there is a wrecked 40,000 mile 88 car with the original catback. Need me to check it out?

I thought that 87 autos had a different muffler beacuse of noise requirements.

What about the 86's? Were these 1-year only mufflers?
