I have not used the dye either but the MetroFinishes lacquer paint has been rock solid with the semi flexible parts like kick panels and the console pads, etc. I have not put it on anything like a really soft surface like a door panel.

I have some marhyde interior dye and I from the way it works, I definitely wouldn't use it on semiflexible surfaces either. I would use that stuff on really soft vinyl or carpet, etc.

If you are meticulous about prepping, the Metro Finsihes will hold much better than the 50Resto stuff. I tried to find out if 50Resto gets their stuff from MetroFinishes and could not. If they do supply 50Resto then I must have gotten a bad batch from 50Resto.
