ASC did it as well. Back in 1986 I bought the complete ground effects package directly from ASC. I put it on my Crimson Cat.negusm wrote:It's no secret that they were one of the largest dealers of ascMcLarens and ascMcLaren parts. They sold parts to whoever wanted them.
A few times I have seen normal Capris with asc parts and their DSO has been from that area.

I do NOT have the 1985 / 1984 VIN listing ! Is it a 1985 ??
Check the title.
Lots of phoeys are beginning to come outta the woodwork, these DAZE.
The VIN is correct (and it is an 86). From visually inspection I can also confirm this is not an ASC (nor is it being represented as one). The pics in the most recent CL listing are just really crappy. The seats DO have the RED piping. The sail panels do NOT have the filler pieces. It is however an RS, well, what would have been an RS in previous years anyway (it has "CRS" on the buck tag).
It needs paint. Apparently the last time it was painted it had 87+ Mustang GT side skirts on it and it was painted with them on it. Now without them the sides of the car below the molding need to be painted in order to match the rest of the car. The air dam needs some repair and paint.
There is a bit more than surface rust on the underside of the hatch. The drivers side floor has a significant crack at the rear of the front seat. There is some rust at the front of the footwells and on the outside of the hatch.
Engines runs strong, but the engine compartment is bare - i.e. the heater hoses and A/C hoses are gone, as are all the emissions hoses. As stated in the ad, the fuel injection has been removed and the car is now carbureted.
It needs tires. Interior is not as nice as described. There's a couple holes in the seat fabric, the dash has a cap on it, the panels are loose and the carpet is stained (but may be savable). The hatch is misaligned and the latch isn't working correctly. It has an aftermarket sunroof. The McLaren wing needs help.
If you want a Capri to bomb around in, or a drag car, or a resto project, this may be an option.
I do have the buck tag info too if anyone wants it.
