Cool asc Marketing materials - MUST SEE - PICS

Post by n20capri »

So I emailed asc just for kicks about getting the official ascMcLaren artwork and I actually got a reply. They didn't have the artwork but sent me some cool marketing stuff...one they called a sign and the other some sort of hand drawn concept...way cool whatever they are...Mike add them to the literature section...enjoy...

I have unsuccessfully "fought" with ascMcLaren down thru the years to "fix" this sheet, but it seems nobody is willing.

Errors:

The convertible roof was ALSO available in Dark Brown (1989) and in Oxford White (1990) and in Claret-Wine (1989 & 1990). They only mention Beige, Black and Dark Blue.

The figure for the Capri is in error. It's actually 842 and THAT includes BOTH the Coupe & the 'Vert, even thou the reader (viewer) of that piece, is led to believe that they are "speaking" of the 'Vert and THAT is what is depicted inthe photo.

842 is the figure on the master listing, and the breakout concours. There are 91 cars too many on that figure. 842 is also the number of cars that FoMoCo got paid for, as well as the number of cars ascMcLaren shipped.

Again, those pesky black rims. Or are the silver and in darkness ?
I think maybe they were available ONLY on the Capri 'Vert. possibly only in 1984. I do not have the order form for the 1984s......

The 1,791 is correct on the Mustang, however, it's omitting the 15 cars exported! 1791 + 8 to New Zealand, 4 to Austrailia, & 3 to Mexico = 15 + 1791 = 1806, the correct #.

ALSO notice that the headline says ASC MC LAREN MSTANG ~ but the car shown is a Mercury Capri. Might lead the illinformed to believing that car shown IS in fact, a Mustang.

I would be interested in seeing some of those 15"x17" cast aluminum wheels that they speak of. :screwy:

Hmm what would that be a 525/60/15's?

I know I saw the sketches someplace before but cant figure it out? Was this the presketches of the '91? All they planned was making the 15" stretch to 16" wheels same style. Notice the '93 Cobra took the lower ground effects from this and also the wheels are directional and placed on backwards.
