Are those original tires for the verts?

They are not correct size for the coupes.

Mike,

Those tires are too new, that style tread pattern wasn't around until the early 1990's.

Edit -
I see that Sandy has those on his Coupe, I was sure they didn't come out until about 1988 or '89 at the earliest.

The tire size in the auction is wrong for coupes. I forget if verts got different size tires than coupes.

True, the Coupes got 225/50-15, Verts & EuroCoupes had 225/60-15.

Sorry to say, but those rims were never used on any McLarern. Coupes got Orange or Anthricite or White, Capri Verts got blue, Gold, Anthracite or white. "Stangs got Anthricite, Gold, or White. 89 & 90 were Silver, White or Silver with Gold "pockets". Nobody got Black !

Coupe tires were 225x50/15. Capri Verts 225x60/15
I do beleive (not 100% positive) that they were all BF Goodrich CompT/A.

sure looks like there is orange under the black look aroung the bolt holes looks orange to me plus the orange and blue center cap

I actually have a pic (somewhere....do not ask me to post) of a 1984 'Vert wearing red mesh wheels, with silver rim lip. The center cap appears to be black with silver ascmclaren logo. The car is red/tan. I recall asking the owner if they were original, and he said he did not know, as he bought it used. I asked at ascMcLaren (this back in 1986) and the general feeling was, yes, they were original, as 1 or 2 people seemed to recall "a couple of cars having gotten the red mesh wheels" ~ Other than that 1 - I have never seen any others.
