Wanted: Whistler Spectrum interior readout head and wiring

I need the interior readout head and the wiring that goes to the sensor. I have the sensor that mounts behind the bumper cover, but that's it.


I have a K-40 detector that was used supposedly in the ASC McLaren Capri for sale. It is new.

What brand is the K-40? And what asc cars used it?

ascMcLaren used the Whistler Spectrum-II Superhetrodyne Remote Integral Radar Detector, exclusively. It MSRP(d) @ $238.00 if you bought it privately. It was standard equipment in the 85 & 86 COUPES. Not sure if it was included with the 1984s.

Mike - -I was told by someone that when ASC ran out of the Whistlers at one point, they were installing the K-40 detector. Kind of the same deal with the Kenwood and the Alpine?? True??

I have never seen a K-40 in an asc I don't think. Although I don't suppose I've really been looked for it.

I'll have to remember the next time I see a non-whistler radar detector in a car and see if it's the k-40.
