Post by ASCMCLRN »

OMG this car is truly amazing! I am surprised this isnt one of Sandy's. I certainly bet it qualifies for Sandy's best of class.

Why would you maintain a near perfect 5800 mile car like that and put in an ugly aftermarket stereo?

Perhaps he wanted a cd player awhile back and that is what was available at the time? Besides with that low of miles I dont think he used the car much to be bothered by it. :) Basically the car has on it 305 miles per year! I am still amazed at the pictures, probably cause it is exactly what my car should look like. I bet that was the last car if not one of the last cars made in 88.

Hey Mike, Nick, DO you think he change the springs in the rear :?:
sits a little high in the rear and those are not recaro's. Still the car is
something to BEHOLD its GORGEOUS.

I noticed his comment on having recaros after I posted, good eye GQ.

As far as ride height I really can't tell. I took a side shot of his car and of mine and placed them side by side, just wasnt enough to say either way for me.

BTW alll the stickers are in place if anyone needs to examine were they go.

Catch my comments (2) on his e-bay listing under Ask Seller A Question....

Ya, it's beautiful. Especially those carpeted floor mats ! Ultra Rare ! I have them in Scarlet in my Silver one, but none in my blue one. I too don't like the stereo, nor ther pioneer speakers in the rear. Otherwise, it's great.
Ditto on the stickers. It's the 19th from the last 1988. The ride height is normal, as far as I can tell.... I'd love to see the BACK SIDE of the sun visors......

Okay, saw the backs of the sun visors. Rare, indeed. Dual, covered Illuminated visor vanity mirrors. 1988 was the only year for those on these cars. Can't really tell but it looks like the dummy button that would have been marked R. Def for rear defroster, had one been ordered, OR "TOP" if it began life as a convertible, actually IS marked TOP. We've seen a few of these over the years. I am not 100% as when enlarged, it gets too fuzzy, but I seem to see what looks like 3 letters.....

No, I cannot buy another, as to orders from the cook.

Wow, great car. Immaculate.

I don't think the stereo is that bad, and it doesn't look that old. The speakers are the same size as what was in the car. I don't think he did any cutting.

This car is sitting at stock ride height, its where mine is.

Are those floor mats that rare? I didn't think they were.

damn, I'd love to have a black one. I think the starting bid is too high though.

I didn't have the time before, but now I did and I checked the car against the master listing, from ascMcLaren. I wondered if possibly she was indeed built with the Recaros, and perhaps they were stolen out of her. So, I checked her build. That is not true. She was indeed built with the standard "Sports Seats" as pictured, in the "Sand Beige". She was Jet Black with black roof. Her original Tranny is as pictured, the Automatic. She was not built with the Radar Detector.
1405 would have been her correct Dash Plaque number, but, as we all know, they were no installed in order in 1988, and many numbers far beyond what was built, were used. 1405 would have been correct.
Her posted VIN in the auction is 100% correct.

How many 1988s were made in Jet Black, with Black top and Sand Beige Interior ?? ?? ?? The answer is 55 - as the gentleman had stated. I triple checked !

The car is without flaw. You cannot find better than this. It's actually lower mileage than my 1990 Silver Anniversary Edition which is with 7,237 miles. (Okay, OEM Stereo).

Somebody who will keep it stock and not abuse it, please, go to the bank, today ! Adoption papers are waiting for you. I've never seen a Armored Car following a hearse...... but I have seen the smiles a McLaren puts on many a face. :D

Why do so many Ebay sellers sell car for friends?
I have also wonder if there is some scam going on when that is done.

Sometimes its legit were a person is selling for someone else who isnt as computer literate or dont have or desire to have an Ebay account.

Then you have these people out there that promise to sell things for you at a certain price and rather then sound like they are the reason you are paying more for the car they lie and say they are doing it for a friend.

Other then that you may get the occassional scammer who doesnt have to much knowledge on the vehicle cause it doesnt exist they can get away with not knowing cause it is supposedly someone elses.

BTW there are so many ways to scam so be extra careful! I was scammed twice once with a check I sent, the other time using Paypal. With the check I had to wait for it to clear for the person to send the item so he was very nice until it cleared and never heard from him again. I contacted the FBI cause it was interstate as well as some other agencies and nothing ever transpired. With Paypal I was suspicious and put a hold on the funds and the person rather then transferring it to his own bank account transffered it to someone elses account to bypass Paypals hold on the funds or at least that is how the rep explained it. Paypal only reimbursed $200 of which they take $25 for admin fees so a total of $175 no matter how much over the amount it would have cost.

Boy, you guys are a tough crowd! It's not 2 checks, he is giving people 2 ways to pay!!

The car is not faded. The mileage is legit, the car is mint. I have the car on the registry. It's a "Sandy-Car" ~ How many can I purchase/own ? I am out of storage, and really cannot afford to adopt any more. I have 6 cars now, and the possibility of 1 more coming in February/March, that I have been trying to get and have been waiting for - only for 2 years!

No, it's NOT an ascMcLaren. It's a 1992 Cadillac Fleetwood COUPE - 1 of 433 made, & 1 of only 26 in color, with absolutely every option that was available. She has 6,688 original 1 fanatic owner miles on her. It's for my wife, who drives very very little (1,300 @ yr. or 100 a month and she's always loved the 1989-1992 Fleetwood Coupes). That addition will make 7 cars. Stick a fork in me - I'm done!
