1987 #58 ______/Black/Gray

Post by shelbyscarab »

Here is another one. I'd like to know more about the color on this, - WHAT is it? #58 of 479. Its been repainted, love to know what the original color was. They recover the tonneau cover, seats, and door panels in some strange gray fabric........... :x

The seller told me the original color was "Blue, color code 66B" , so I'm thinking that its supposed to be Atlantic Blue. Is that right Sandy? The blue that is on it isn't correct, unless my monitor isn't showing me the true color. :?:

Sorry to tell you.....

The car left the factory in Sterling Silver Metallic with Light & Medium Titanium Gray interior and a Black Cloth roof.

Under that blue is silver & under the silver is Oxford White.
Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

That would be tweed; for a while it was THE interior product for modified cars.

ok. so what the owner said isn't true then, he said the original was blue. But, it was actually silver. Too bad. 1 of 16. The looks like its in decent overall condition, but those seats are really odd. The seat backs look like they are about 10" thick! and square.......

My cali car was COMPLETELY covered in tweed. It looks nice on pictures, but not so much in person. Good news --- It has to be glued on, so if the plastic is good, you can pull off the tweed and us an adhesive remover to get the remaining glue off. (mine was not going original so I re dyed the plastic, because the adhesive remover faded the original. Took a lot of time, but little added costs.)
