I have no experienance with any such company, other than Grundy. However, I have also never had a claim, just sent payments.....
But, in that field, a company that does NOT do "right" by an insurred, is doomed. The UNhappy
will spread the BAD news far & wide, as you can imagine !! Furthermore, we car-guys protect our cars like nobody else on the planet does. No winters, no snow, some of us
have never had our "toyzz" out in the rain !!! SOooo, that said, their collective "risk" with us is very minimal, agree ?? So, when the unthinkable happens - they know they have to make things "right" ~
That said, any company in this collector-car business (many are also into fine art and expensive sculpture) would be committing suicide by NOT giving an insurred his/her due course of protection as promised.
I don't thnk you cannot go wrong with any of the "Big 4"

Insurance
Just picked up and regular 89 vert and went to add it to my current policy with American Modern. They would not insure it for the stated value I asked for, which was in line with my other cars. In fact they only wanted to do the stated value for what it says on the title. I told they that was very poor customer service and that stated value policy was supposed to prevent this type of hassle. Time to take my 4 cars some place else to insure them.
Maybe they are cracking down on over valuating cars like they did for houses. Anybody else see this happening?

No problems with Hagerty and BBB shows no complaints in last 36 months.
For our everyday vehicles and our homeowners policy is with Amica. I noticed they're rated #1. I have to agree with that assesment of their MUTUAL company, which means no stockholders screaming for bigger profits and bigger premiums! Had them for over 25 years now. Amica is also rated as one of the top companies to work for!
Here in Florida we have a problem getting and keeping homeowners coverage due to the hurricanes. Amica hasn't cancelled any policies but they are not writing new ones. We had 2 wind damage claims years ago due to storms. They were settled to my satisfaction and our rates did not go up. My neighbor pays twice what I do and his assesment is 2/3 of what our is.

Ok, I've been hearing about hagerty and grundy for years......
Am I missing anything with not using them for my "fun" cars?
I've been with my auto insurance company for over 20 years now, they've always been good to me with the few minor issues I've had thru the years. The McLaren is set up based on an agreed on, dollar amount, and I could raise or lower it if I wanted (I'm sure they'd have an upper limit).

With my last collector car insurance policy I had a 5,000 mile per year limit. I never exceeded that with any of my 3 cars.
I switched to Hagerty and saved a little. Hagerty does not specify a mileage limit. I just may take one for a trip this summer so that's a plus for us.
My cost for 3 cars with Hagerty is $553.00 a year. No deductible, agreed value and no mileage limit. Also have the upgraded towing.
My Amica policy on 2 vehicles:1 SUV and 1 F150 with $200.00 deductible on collision only and no other deductible is $1242.00 a year. For Florida, that's a great rate. I know of others with a good driving record paying that on 1 vehicle and way more on 2. We have full coverage on both.

That's a more than decent policy. Mine is a not as good. (Grundy) ~ but it covers 4 cars. $1,057.00 @ year $750.00 deductible, per car.
3 McLarens ( 2Verts & 1 Capri Coupe) & a '93 Fleetwood 60 Special.
Same coverage as your toys.
