Wow, that looks like a nice car..... wish it was closer to me.

2/3 of the ad was just marketing bs....

What color is that? Regatta Blue or Atlantic Blue?

Car looks very complete for that price.

Definately Atlantic Blue Metallic.

The Regatta Blue is a lighter, but just as bright as Sandy's Azura Blue. It was only on 1988s and only 15 were made.

Notice that the exterior mirrors are DOOR MOUNTED, rather than "A" - Post Attached.

That says that it's a very late build ascMcLaren. Those are 1989 / 1990 exterior mirrors.

The listing states this is a 1988 and there are several 1988's in the Album that have door mounted mirrors like this one. Are they incorrect for 1988?

no they became available in late '88. My vert is an early build and has the A piller. It also has '87 stamped headlights, tail lights, top and '87 style console.

No, they are NOT "wrong" ~ 1988s used bothstyle mirrors. the Door Mounted were electric while the "A"-Pillar ones were manual remote control.

At mid year they made the switch, but...at that time the motorized ones were X-tra cost, for a short while. When the remote control mirrors were all used up, then the Power operated Door Mtd. mirrors became standard equipment.

I'd say, from Sept. 1987 thru December 1987 the only ones were the manual remote control and April and on to July, the elecric powered ones were an OPTION, and after July the Door Mount power units were standard equipment.

My '88 has the door mounted mirrors, and I have seen quite a few other '88s as well that have them.

My dash plaque is #688.
