FIRE!!!

Post by shaolinfox30 »

#122 OF ABOUT 375 BUILT... YEAH........
Where do people get these figures?
Maybe I'll start making my own up.

Did y'all know that my 89 was 1 of 1 EVER made w/ a cogsworth twin turbo diesel w/ methanol injection? Oh yeah, it also has an automatic 3 piece hard top and a 12 speed transmission mated to a tiptronic shift system all installed by ASC.

This one is a damn shame. you can tell that this car was in excellent condition before the fire.

This is 1 of 75 in this color combo from '87.

Fire damaged ASC Mustang

Post by capri50asc »

That fire started by a fuel leak at the spring lock fuel line coupling . These can come apart or leak at one of the two o-ring on each line that is on the intake manifold. My 1986 Capri RS with 5.0 liter engine about 15 years ago had a smell of gas when I would walk near it. I never knew what it was until a good mechanic told me that the spring locks o-rings had to be replaced The part number is Motorcraft

I still have the package WITH the bad o-ring in the bag! If I had a spark plug wire arc a spark near the leaking fuel. It would have caught on fire. Also my old Consumers Guide states it as a Recall. But, if you Google it, no information comes up on this.

With fire damage, the $1006.00 price might be the top! I don't want any vehicle that's had a fire. Too much 'hidden' damage.
