Not EVERYBODY hates you. Only those that couldn't get a job like yours and the very rich, who realize they can keep more of their money if YOU are paid less and forced to work more years.

I worked for the Federal Government 3 times in 3 different capacities. 4 years 5 month and 5 days active duty in the miliyaty, a year at NAS Jacksonville repairing aircraft instruments and the US Postal Service as a clerk, finance officer and president of the American Poatal Workers Union, in Latgo, Florida.

Never felt hated and worked with some great people.

That service and my 23 years as a business owner or employee, under Soc. Sec. gave us a great retirement. I retired at 59 & 1/2 and so did my wife.

Along the way we also invested in timber land, real estate and stocks.

I fear those that follow in my footsteps will not have it as well as I have and I don't see why except for the 'Greed Factor.' Remember the Golden Ruke: He that has the Gold - rules.!

Good luck in your struggles!

I sold Doge cars/tucks for 27 years, and 98% of the prospects were civil to me. Only the dumb-ass TV comics would always poke fun at us.
It's a hard job, and if they ever tried it...they woulda shut up!

You're definitely not alone, Stew. I'm a public employee, too. City of Detroit......yes! that Detroit.

All of us public employees are under seige, based upon the common MIS-conception that we're fat, rich, lazy bloodsuckers that do nothing for the public that pays us....And, I, for one, am sick and tired of it.

The sad truth is that most non skilled trades workers earn, AT BEST, 50% of private sector, AT BEST. Usually its more like 30-40%. Yes, we do have decent benefits (health care), although thats changing, drastically. The one thing we have to look forward to is retirement. Having a defined benefit plan is worth it all. But you must sacrifice for your entire career in order for it to pay off, and because our pensions are based on your best 3 of your last 10 years, you have to run yourself into the ground the last 10 years of your career to be relatively comfortable in retirement.

I could expound on this for hours, but I know I'm partially preaching to the choir.

I placed a for sale add here and on three other forums. Two of the adds started tulips I had no desire to deal with; so I pulled all the ads. People have since popped in commenting on the opening line of my sig.

I'm thinking that people here are alittle bored.

Maybe you should post the ads just for fun

You don't want him to do that. He got kinda singed on FEP.

No. It really isn't costing me anything to keep it. I hope to have the money/time to do it up right at some point. If it rots into the ground between now and then, oh well.

For you guys wondering about the car in question, If I'm not mistaken, this is Eric 5oh's old car from FEP.
