I was in the Detroit / Dearborn area last week. Through my work with the Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Club, the Pittsburgh Vinatge Grand Prix and the YMR, I was invited to attend an enthusiasts group meeting at Ford Racing. Met some of the Ford execs and also got to go for some "hot laps" with a pro driver at the proving grounds. Also got to see some of my friends at MOCSEM at a local Mustang collection that afternoon. I loved telling people about my Stang, but also about my "red headed step child" ascMcLaren Capri. Definately the oportunity of a lifetime. Here's a link to the story our club president wrote about our trip. I'm on the left in the picture with John Clor of Ford Racing.

I wish I could have hung around for Mustang Memories and Woodward, but I had to go back to work. Bummer. But a great experince I will never forget.

Woodward
My daughter and son in law were at Woodward. In their 2006 Corvette. He's retired from GM as a project engineer. Has a new Camaro that's got a special paint job but didn't take that. The Corvette Clubs raises food for a church during the week. And they get preferential parking and free food at some GM gathering point.
I have been to Woodward many times over the past 6-7 years. I usually go with my Yellow Mustang friends (YMR). Just way too many car events this summer here in the Burgh and at some point, I have to pay at least a little attention to my business. Gotta keep making $$$ to pay for my 4 wheeled toys.
On a side note - we took the McLaren & our 77 Bonneville to a show today. The Bonneville (my wife's car) won first in it's class but the Mclaren didn't win. I fell victim to the big problem with our cars - what class???? I ended up in stock where it should be but I'll bet the judges thought I should have been in modified or special. So I spuspect I wasn't condiered. They just have no idea about these cars I thinkest. Oh well, maybe someday.
