84-86 Coupe Decals

question to all you coupe owners, is Hank the only place for NOS decals?

I think so because...

I understood that the intiial order from whomever
manufactured them was for 500 sets. Subtract 25
for the 1984s, & then 150 for the 1985s & then 115
for the 1986s and you are left with 210 sets. I also
believe that Hank was the only person to purchase
left-over unused product from asc.
I don't know this for absolute fact, but I am fairly
sure of it.

good news then for all the coupe owners!
the company that produced the decals & applied them for ASC just so happens to be Graphik Concepts in Farmington, MI
they also produced & applied the GP4 decals.
while visting with them a few weeks backs, i asked about the ASC Coupes decals since the gp4 & asc coupes share the same decal above the bumper(gp4 has red, asc has orange) & i was told that the asc coupe decals were the same situation as the gp4 decals. they have always had them on file & can supply any color 84-86 coupe decals.
were are talking NOS decals. he even showed me some orange decals they just had "laying around"
if your restoring a 84-86 coupe, then Graphik Concepts is a must for decals. not only are you getting untouched NOS from the people who made them, but they are applied by the same company that put them on the cars back in the day.
and they are way cheaper than Hank.
just to give you an idea of cost.
a complete set of decals for gp4 (and there is alot of decals on this car)
goes for $283.50 and if you want the whole shebang installed at there facility, you can add $175

i imagine a complete set of coupe decals would be alot cheaper since there is less stickers than the gp4 cars.

W-O-W !!!!!! I knew that THEY had GP1V decals at G.C. but I was under the impression that they had no McLaren Coupe decals. That's Great news!! How about the thin single bumper-body-bumper orange tape stripe from the 1986 EuroCoupes ?? They have that ?

While you were talking to them, did you happen to ask them about the possibility of them having any of the decals on file that were used on the other vehicles from the 1985 Detroit Grand Prix?

Speaking of tags, decals and emblems - anyone ever deal with this site?

Not even sure if they are still in business, but the price for the 5.0 sc tag
sounds like a pretty good deal. The other plates seem fair priced as well,
but I do not know how close to original these really are. Thought this
might be of interest to some in the group!!!

i didnt ask about the cougar decals.
i do know that the extra decals that were applied to gp4's that went on the saftey car and pace car were not made or applied by graphik concepts.
those were done after they left ASC in livonia.
chances are the cougars might have been the same.
call them & ask. even if they didnt, if you can provide them with a photo of the decal, they can re-produce it to exact spec. they told me that about the extra pace/saftey car decals.

i forgot to mention to ask for Bill when you call about decals.
in 1985 he said he was a kid applying decals for graphik concepts (he actually was one of the guys who installed ASC & GP4 decals).
now he is one the top dogs at graphik concepts.
so he very informative on the asc/gp4 cars.
