Some notes on the photos of above car:

1) For 1984 Converts, the color-keyed grille, headlamp frames and the small ascMcLaren emblem IN the grille to be color matched to the body is correct for both the ascMcLaren Red AND the ASC White examples. Jet Black examples used the stock, non-painted charcoal grille & headlamp frames and a chrome plated ascMcLaren grille emblem.

2) The 360-degree bumper-body-bumper stripe inset into the moulding's depression is also correct, for a 1984, 1985 & 1990. The Capri colors were either blue (non metallic) or metallic gold. The gold came on red or black cars while the blue came on the white cars. White cars could have had either color depending upon an interior of blue or tan.....

3) The red wheels are what makes this car a STAND OUT ! They are correct! ascMcLaren had both blue and red wheels on 1984s and some early 1985s (until supply was exhausted.) I have seen the blue wheels on a 1985 (very late build) Paris Blue Car.

4) I'm not saying a word, but his production figure is way off the map at 337 or whatever he states.
For 1984 FIFTY (50) were made. If memory serves (old memory now-a-days :D ) I seem to recall 35 in Muscat Red, 10 in ASC White and 5 in Jet Black......All made exactly the same - only variable was transmission type.

5) Obviously the ground effects were added by some owner, as they did not become an option until late in the 1985 model run.

Well, looking again....the bumpers and all side mouldings are from a 1985 Capri....as the the 84 had the wide depression in the center and the 85/86 cars had the two pencil thin ridges in the bottom 1/3 of the moulding.

I wonder what the vin really is.

It also has the rear third brake light from a 1986....I wonder if it works?

'Ya, and stupid me totally oblivous to the SPOILER! WTF us with THAT on ANY 84 85 86 Capri 'Vert ??? It's been toyed with and customized. How come no published VIN ? Don't think I've ever seen that missing before.
I'm betting she's a 85 with a 87 Mustang McLaren Spoiler and a likewise stop lamp and 86 Coupe ground effects.

Yeah...and the owner painted the wheels cause they would look "cool".

The dash is black too. I wonder why?
